We are continuing to build our reading stamina during Daily 5 (our literacy time). We also introduced 2 more choices: work on writing and listen to reading. In math we finished up our first chapter on place value; we have started Ch. 2 -- focusing on addition. In Bible we are learning how we can be Bible Explorers -- we went on a verses hunt, finding verses throughout the 66 books of the Bible! In science we are learning all about the Water Cycle!
Here are a few pictures:
- These go home every Friday, with important papers, tests, graded homework, etc. I also include the information of the AR quiz your child took (every Wednesday we will take AR quizzes on our books from the library). In 3rd grade, for the first quarter, I would like all the students to try and reach a goal of 4 AR points. All you need to do as a parent is empty the folder, sign the paper next to their AR book information & send it back to school Monday.

- Beginning next week Monday (9/11) afternoon we will start taking MAP tests. These are computer-based and we use them to test our students' instructional levels and to measure academic growth. Please let me know if you have any more questions about these MAP Growth tests.
